June faves (ground beef for life, not a typo)

Ok, first pretend I wrote this yesterday 🙈. It's my June favorites but we're still going for it. This is the real life, present over perfect kind of vibes, because in the health and wellness world it's never too late.

Here's what I've been up to that explains the lateness factor 👇

I'm coming to you from the home stretch of something I've been quietly working on for the last several months: my Health Mindset Coaching Certification.

It's advanced training in the behavior change science behind why smart, driven women know exactly what to do and still can't make it stick. Spoiler: it was never a willpower problem.

(Grounded in actual psychology research, not Instagram mindset fluff.)

My written and oral finals are due July 10th, but I've blocked out tomorrow morning to knock them out. Then it's official: HMCC coach gets added to my toolbox, and you get a coach trained in both what your labs say AND how to finally make the plan stick past the motivated phase.

🍴Favorite Recipe: Jammy Onion and Miso Beans. Ok, this is going to be my new food obsession. A friend shared it with me and at first glance I was not too interested. I WAS WRONG. Holy smokes did this knock it out of the park. I ate the whole batch in one day. (Somehow by the grace of God eating all those beans in one day didn’t make me explode 💨😆)

Unless you have a serious aversion to beans, you will not be disappointed!

📚Book: The Last One at the Wedding. This was a quick read with just enough twists and turns to keep me reading. “Part conspiracy thriller, part family drama” was the review that made me pick this one up and it delivered.

🛒Favorite Product: ButcherBox. This isn’t a lecture on eating more protein (lord knows you get that enough on your Instagram feed). This is a protein lifeline.

This is how I get grass-fed beef, pastured chicken, wild-caught seafood, and PRECOOKED proteins delivered to my door every month. Between coaching CrossFit, training for my half-marathon, clients, and two kids, this is one decision I don't have to make anymore.

And their new member deal right now is genuinely good: a FREE Signature Box ($179 value) plus free ground beef for life when you sign up through my link.

Ground beef. For life. 👈 That's not a typo!

They also run promotional deals all month long. When I spot a good one (right now it's six 5.3 oz grass-fed and finished burgers for $9.60), I add it to my box.

You can't eat protein you don't have and ButcherBox means I always have it!

Ok, back to my prep work. I’ll celebrate with you soon ✌️

XO,
KB

Yesterday I laid on the couch for 3 hours and 2 of those I was napping. It took me a minute to realize it, but Wednesdays are like that for me. A typical start to my week looks like this: Monday: Wake up at 5am and hit the trail by 6am for a 6 mile run. Tuesday: I'm up at 5:15 for a fun (but grindy) workout at the gym. Wednesday: I’m up at 5:15 because I workout before coaching the morning classes at my CrossFit gym. (Mind you, this is all before a full work day and my parenting...

I made a decision on something a few days ago and I'm excited to share it with you. This is what I refer to as a PRIMAL YES. You know that kind of yes I’m talking about? The kind that you feel in your body and the excitement just grows out of you until you have no choice but to take action. That’s me right now. I signed up for a half marathon. Not just any old half marathon, I signed up for a trail half marathon. (one in an EPIC location might I add) I’ve done a bazillion road races (ok,...

May was my birthday month, which means it's automatically one of my favorite months of the year 🥳. I particularly love Taurus season because it’s the one time of year I get to lean fully into my natural state of self-indulgence and call it an astrological personality trait. 😆 Here are a few of my favorites from May… 📖 Book: Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid I devoured this one. Big historical fiction fan here, and this was no exception. Atmosphere follows one of the first women training to be...
